§ 1.16.030. Emergency enactment procedure.

  • Emergency ordinances necessary for the preservation of public property or the public health, safety and welfare shall only be adopted at a regular or special meeting of the Board of Selectmen, and only upon the affirmative vote of five (5) members of the Board. The facts and reasons showing the urgency and need for the adoption of an ordinance as an emergency measure shall be set forth in the ordinance itself. An emergency ordinance may be introduced and adopted at a single meeting of the Board of Selectmen, and shall take effect upon posting as required by section 1.16.010.
